Chevy models are timeless, a claim supported by a dealership’s recent efforts to bring back a 1970s Cheyenne Super 10.
Blake Greenfield Chevrolet Buick in Wells, Minnesota, is making headlines thanks to efforts by the staff to convert a Chevy Silverado into the classic 1970s pickup. This “retrofitting” gives a new Silverado a classic look that makes it stand apart while still giving the driver modern amenities.
Dealership owner Blake Greenfield says the inspiration for the old-school truck project came when he got a delivery for a Silverado decked out in a Woodland Green color that gave it a particularly retro look. From there, Greenfield and his staff decided to convert an entire truck using decals, paint, and more.
The retrofitted Chevy Silverado has metal Cheyenne badges added to the fenders, Big 10 logos on the bed, and noticeably lifted suspension. It also has white wagon rims with a distinctly 1970s look.
A photo of the throwback truck made the rounds on social media, bringing in attention from all around the country. As a result, the dealership decided to start offering retro Silverado makeover packages for $5,995 — a small price to pay for such a big helping of enjoyable pickup truck nostalgia.

The all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is scheduled to hit the market this year. The upcoming pickup boasts impressive capability and quite a few styling changes to appreciate.
The Chevrolet Silverado, soon to be available at Bill Walsh GM Superstore, features best-in-class cargo volume thanks to its increased width. It also features 12 fixed and nine movable tie-down points. Lockable in-bed storage bins are also available if you are constantly on the go. A class-exclusive power up and down tailgate arrives for the 2019 model year as well.
When push comes to shove, the Chevrolet Silverado will offer increased toughness compared to top competitors. The bed features higher strength steel for better damage resistance. The upcoming model has undergone extensive testing. In total, it’s seen seven million miles of real-world testing. Additionally, more high-strength steel and some aluminum bring the 2019 Silverado in at 450 pounds less than previous models.
The Chevrolet Silverado will feature a whopping six, yes, six, engine options for the 2019 model year. V8 engines will feature Dynamic Fuel Management that can increase fuel economy. A 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine will also arrive for the model year.
Available in eight trim levels, the all-new Chevrolet Silverado will feature a model for everyone from workers to luxury-loving drivers. More rear seat room also ensures passengers will be more comfortable.
The Chevy Silverado has been a staple of the full-size truck market in America for years, and, based on the 2016 Silverado’s design, it looks like the truck’s reputation will only gain in popularity and stature in the future. The new Chevy Silverado comes with all kinds of new features, starting with a new front end design. The new grille is huge and grinning, underscoring the Silverado’s great strength and performance numbers.
Silverado is actually the second-best selling vehicle overall in the United States, but all the new improvements to the 2016 Silverado give it a chance to gain on the number one spot.
“The redesigned 2016 Silverado will build on Chevy Trucks’ legacy of dependability. It will feature a more muscular appearance and offer new customer-focused technologies,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. “New front end designs with bold horizontal elements, sculpted hoods and dramatic lighting reflect the strength and refinement that have helped make Silverado the fastest growing full-size pickup brand this year.”
The new Silverado also comes with features like an eight-speed automatic transmission, MyLink infotainment system, and tons of safety technologies to make this full-size truck as safe and comfortable as it is powerful.
