For the past five years, there is one football game that has been more exciting than the rest for the Chevrolet family. No, we’re not talking about the Super Bowl, but in fact the annual Army-Navy Game. This year, the automaker continued its tradition of giving back to our military members by reuniting one family and gifting them a new 2015 Chevy Colorado.
Chevy’s partnership with the Wish for Heroes charitable organization made this year’s game one to remember. United States Army Sgt. Jonathon Preston Thompson surprised his wife and daughter by meeting them on the field at the game. Chevrolet then added to the reunion by presenting the family with the all-new mid-size pickup.
“As we’ve seen with the Thompsons and millions of others, military families make huge sacrifices for our country, and it feels good to celebrate Sgt. Thompson’s homecoming with a brand-new truck,” said Dan Akerson, former General Motors chairman and CEO and US Naval Academy graduate.
We at Bill Walsh Chevrolet love to hear stories like this one where our military heroes are shown gratitude for their sacrifice. After the annual Army-Navy Game gift, we’re guessing the Thompsons will have a merry Christmas indeed.
