Chevy Chevelle

If you know your cars, then you know the Chevy Chevelle is a classic. It has evolved over the years from the Chevelle to the Malibu, but we’ll always love its classic form. Check out some of the Chevelle’s history below.

1964 – 1967

During these years, the very first Chevelle premiered. It came in lots of variations to make everybody happy, from two-door coupes to convertibles, four-door sedans, and station wagons. It came with plenty of power too, with a V8 engine being offered in each body style.

1968 – 1972

The second generation Chevelle brought with it some updates. It swiftly became “America’s most popular mid-size car” and went through body style changes. In 1969, Chevy even developed a steam powered concept Chevelle.

1973 – 1977

The body and chassis of the Chevelle went through major changes in 1973. Then, in 1975, it got major updates with the Chevrolet Efficiency System. It gave the Chevelle even more power and efficiency than its predecessors.

1978

After the Malibu versions of the Chevelles became more popular, the Chevelle officially changed its name in 1978; that’s how it became the Malibu of today.
