For the 2018 model year, the Buick LaCrosse is getting a significant update. All LaCrosse models will come with light electrification. The 2018 Buick LaCrosse will make its debut this fall.
All LaCrosse eAssist models will be powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a compact lithium-ion battery pack. That combination delivers a 19% increase in city fuel efficiency when compared to the V6 engine in the current LaCrosse. Along with improved efficiency, the system will also deliver torque-assisted launch, regenerative braking, and a stop/start fuel-saving system.
With this latest eAssist technology, the battery is smaller than ever and maintains the LaCrosse’s spacious trunk and fold-down rear seat.
“Executing innovative technologies in an approachable and meaningful way is core to Buick,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC. “By adding the eAssist system to the LaCrosse, our technology flagship, we are making electrification accessible to our customers as we chart our course to the future of mobility.”
Along with the light electrification, the 2018 LaCrosse will also come with available all-wheel drive, a newly-available nine-speed automatic transmission for V6 models, and three new exterior color choices.
The updated 2018 Buick LaCrosse will be coming to Bill Walsh GM Superstore this fall. Are you excited to try out this new light electrification feature?
